The Top 10 Health Search Engines of 2008
"Lalisio Literature makes the list because it is an attractive gateway to
open access literature and open access, what with the passage of
mandatory open access legislation worldwide (...), will more and
more affect all our lives for the better---and render more and more
valuable medical literature searchable."

Alternative Search Engines for the Life Sciences
"I like Lalisio Literature because it is a handy entry point to the world of open access materials. The open access movement is something we all need to grasp the workings, principles and passions of and exploit to the fullest so as to be empowered to find whatever we can of value in the interstices of the Deep Web and its subset, grey literature. Like Mednar (though not as well), Lalisio Literature enables users to mine the riches of databases and repositories that other search engines don’t always burrow into well if all."

Lalisio Literature Offers Easy Lingua
If you're like me, you have a love-hate relationship with Google, and are always excited when a new search engine arrives for specialized searches.

Lalisio Literature is the newest offering from the German team responsible for the Lalisio social network, formed in 2001, which connects professors and students in the sharing of gray literature and academic recommendations.

If you need to search for science and technology books, journal articles, or "open access" downloadable content, Lalisio Literature is the place to go.

Running a search for books about "Google," I found 84 book results, categorized by title, author, publisher, year published, and keywords. Clicking on a random title showed ISBN numbers, book format, language, and price comparisons to buy the book from Powell's, Amazon.com, AbeBooks.com, ecampus.com, or alibris.

Forse ci penseranno in futuro!!!!

New sci-tech search engine: Q-Sensei
Another sci-tech search engine has joined others to serve the needs and tastes of scientists. This one comes from a small company whose main service is the Lalisio social network for scientists. While the 2 million-plus article content nowhere near reaches the size and scope of behemoths such as Elsevier’s Scirus or Google Scholar, the Q-Sensei search engine (http://literature.lalisio.com/oai.html) has a metadata orientation that offers some interesting search capabilities. It can suggest alternative search strategies and allows searchers to narrow and focus their search results in a manner familiar to traditional searchers. At this point, it only searches open access content from ArXiv and PubMed Central, but parallel services also reach IngentaConnect and a series of book citation sources.
